Teledac Inc closing permanently on november 30, 2015 / www.teledac.com staying



 After 37 years of continuous work, the time has come for Martin Chouinard, to gradually retire and close his business.
  Teledac Inc. will be closed permanently as of November 30, 2015.

 Customers will be relieved to learn that as a former administrator, he is committed to support them so that their Iristext equipment can continue to broadcast for several years. To this end, he acquired all the necessary equipment and inventory from the company. If you need help or repair service, please contact him by email: general@teledac.com  .

  Meanwhile, the www.teledac.com site will continue to be available to maintain contact with customers and inform Iristext users.

  Notice : Major failure on TELEDAC.COM (November 20 - 24)

Our Hosting Service Provider for www.teledac.com (and many other sites) suffered a major system failure. This breakdown happened on Thursday November 20 until Monday 24 in the afternoon.

During that period, our WEB site was not available and no e-mail addressed to Teledac.com was reaching us. If you sent any e-mail messages to us during that time, please retransmit them.

Please accept our apologies for any inconveniency this may have caused.

Iristext-Mark+ Series, 3 advantages.



The I-MK series evolves to I-Mk+. It costs a little less while adding 3 advantages:

    - 18 character styles instead of 17 and 55 fonts in total instead of 48,

    - 12 display modes (from one page to the next) instead of 10: Scan from left or right (speed 1-9) added,

    - I-MX4 option is now offered for I-Mk +: memory for pages can be quadrupled.


The Mk+ Series includes four models aiming at the same applications as the previous Mks. However, a + sign is added to their model numbers: I-Mk-II+, I-Mk-III+, I-Mk-IV+ et I-Mk-V+.

 The Coopérative de câblodistribution de l'Isle aux Coudres just went back "On Air" with a new Community Message Channel. They took advantage of our trade-in program to get a new stand-alone Iristext-MkII unit. It replaces a T-1300 display unit acquired in 1993.

  If you have one of our previous generation display unit such as the T-1016, T-1122, T-1144, T-1300, R-1300 or T-1532, you could also advantageously upgrade. You only need to send us a brief e-mail with your model and serial numbers. This program could generate a significant saving for each Teledac unit replaced.

  I-Reach is compatible with Windows 8. Tests were done successfully under Windows 8, 64-bit.
I-Reach must be at revision level 1.6.0.11.c or later to insure compatibility.

 Télécâble Groleau Inc. is now using an Iristext-Mk-IV with I-Reach to broadcast local announcements in Sainte-Thècle, Québec.




January, 2012

  "CTCL, la Corporation de télévision communautaire du comté de Labelle" replaced their Iristext-Photo+ by a TELLIMAGE-MP. The system is used to broadcast classified ads with photos and local announcements.

Also known as "Ctcl Canal Vox" this organization provides the community channel on Videotron CATV system in Mont-Laurier, Québec.


December, 2011

  I-Reach is compatible with Windows 7. It has been tested under Windows 7, 32-bit Starter and Home Premium and Ultimate multi-language editions. A specific installation procedure must be followed to insure compatibility. Please contact us if you are planning to re-install I-Reach under Windows Seven.

 Vidéotron extends the number of installed Iristext-MK-V in their CATV headends. Since January, a total of seven Mk-V have been acquired to broadcast notices to their cable TV subscribers. The last two Mk-V units will be broadcasting to reach subscribers in the Gatineau area.



June, 2011

 TVCOGECO is adding the Iristext-MK-V to their studio equipment in Trois-Rivières, Qc.



January, 2011

 Vidéotron is adding five Iristext-MK-V to their CATV headends.

A text notice is crawling on a semi-transparent band overlaid at the bottom of CMT and YTV programming. Subscribers are notified that soon both channels will no longer be on Classic Cable. The message also invites them to subscribe to Digital TV to keep on watching both channels.

Iristext scheduling inserts this brief message three times per hour at most appropriate time in order not to harm on air programming.

 Reminder: Since 2007, Dates for the Daylight Saving Time have changed.

  IRISTEXT units designed before 2007 are programmed (in automatic mode) to go on Daylight Saving Time on previous dates (1st Sunday of April, 2 Am to last Sunday in October 2, Am). Consequently, if you are concerned by this change, your Iristext unit must now be set to manual mode, otherwise its clock will go forward (or backward) by one hour at the wrong time.

  Thereafter, those living in a region where new DST time dates have been adopted, will have to do DST and Normal Time changes manually by adjusting the clock, twice a year at the right time.

 These changes can be done rapidly with I-Reach software. Please click on: dst check settings.pdf. If you do not have I-Reach, please refer to Sections 8.1 E and 8.1 F in your Iristext learning guide or see the list of manuals available in PDF format.

  "CABLOVISION WARWICK INC." replaces their Iristext-Photo+ by a TELLIMAGE-MP system.

The system is used to broadcast 24 hours a day, Classified Ads with digital photos and local events announcements. This CATV system provides service to Warwick, Kingsey Falls and St-Félix de Kingsey, Québec.



May, 2009

 The "Coopérative Antenne TV St-Zacharie" is now using the I-Reach software to prepare their local ads and announcements. This information is broadcasted by an IRISTEXT-4000 located at their CATV head end. All information is being prepared remotely via Internet.

  If you use a standalone Iristext unit such as the I-MKI, I-MkII, I-4000-Jr, I-4000-SRC or I-4000-SR, please let us know. To receive a quote, send us a brief e-mail with your model and serial numbers. Some of the I-MkII, I-4000-SRC or I-4000-SR units are ready for I-Reach without modification.

 Hydro-Québec acquires another Tellimage-MP system for workers information broadcasting.

The site of this new installation is unknown.


  Their first Tellimage-Mp was installed in 2004 at the base camp of the Peribonka hydroelectric project.

 Following a recent price adjustment, Teledac Inc is announcing that the free telephone support periods are changing.

  Starting with all new systems ordered on or after July 15, 2008 free support periods will be 60 days for Iristext Mark units and 1 year for Tellimage systems.

 The City of Lac-Bouchette, Qc goes on air on their Community Channel with an up-graded IRISTEXT-4000-Sr system. Previously, they were using a standalone I-4000-Sr for message broadcasting. The up-grade includes the I-Reach software to enter information directly from their PC.

    Persona Communications upgrades their "BROADCAST NEWS" channel with a Teledac I-Mark-BN in Whitecourt, Alberta.

The same I-Mark-BN system was previously selected in February 2007 and June 2006 for similar applications in Peace River and Grande Prairie.



December 18, 2007

  The Community Communications Co-op (La Coopérative des Communications Communautaire Ltée) of Wellington P.E.I., has replaced his Iristext-4000-Jr message generator by an TELLIMAGE-MP system.

  The new system will be used to broadcast a community cable channel, called "Télé-communautaire Évangéline". It broadcasts, in the region, community information around the clock and a weekly TV bingo.



October 26, 2007

 "TVC de la vallée de la Matapédia" from Amqui, QC acquired the I-Reach software to prepare their communiqués. These messages are then broadcasted by an IRISTEXT-MkII video message generator. Previously, they were using the I-MkII in standalone mode to enter the information. I-Reach now gives them full off-line editing, without interfering the message cycle broadcast.

Previously, they were using a standalone I-4000-Jr for message broadcasting. The up-grade includes the I-Reach software to enter information directly from their PC.

 Burgeo Broadcasting System Ltd from Burgeo Newfoundland took advantage of our trade-in program to purchase a new I-Mk-III unit. It replaces a T-1300 display unit acquired in the 1990. This is the second T-1300 that this CATV operator replaces under the program. A year before, a T-1300 was replaced by an Iristext-4000.

  If you own one of our previous generation display unit such as the T-1016, T-1122, T-1144, T-1300, R-1300 or T-1532, you could also advantageously upgrade.   Daylight Saving Time , Date Change.

  All IRISTEXT units (in automatic mode) are programmed to go on Daylight Saving Time from the first Sunday of April at 2 am until the last Sunday in October at 2 am. These dates have now been changed. Consequently, all Iristext units must now be set to manual mode, otherwise the clock will advance by another hour 3 weeks after the new effective dates.

   From now on, Daylight Saving Time and Normal Time changes must be done manually at the right time.


March 1st, 2007

 Rogers Television goes on air with Teledac for their CATV systems in Grand Falls, Corner Brook and Botwood, Newfoundland.

TELLIMAGE-MP systems were selected to inform communities in Grand Falls, Corner Brook while an Iristext-MK was installed in Botwood.

    Persona Communications upgrades their "BROADCAST NEWS" channel with a Teledac I-Mark-BN in Peace River, Alberta. The system includes a crawl option for local messages. This Teledac unit replaces a Compuvid SG-3 from Texscan MSI.

    The same I-Mark-BN system was previously selected in June 2006 for a similar application in Grande Prairie.


November 17, 2006

 Videotron make use of the "Express-Message" function on Tellimage-MP to keep subscribers posted about a change on their channel line-up.

The information is crawled over a semi-transparent band at the bottom of APTN screen announcing that TheShoppingChannel has been moved to channel 6.

  Videotron install a TELLIMAGE-MP into their Montreal head-end. This system will be used to notify subscribers about changes on their CATV network.
